چکیده

Purpose: To determine the cytotoxic and antiviral potentials of Euphorbia milii var. splendens leaf against Peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV).
Methods: The methanol extract, as well n- hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, butanol fractions E. leaves were screened for activities PPRV using Vero cell line 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay.
Results: Non-cytotoxic concentrations with survival rate (CSP) greater than 50 % considered virucidal. Methanol extract produced significant (p < 0.05) effects at all test PPRV. concentration (CC50) calculated was ≤ 25 µg/mL fractions. In assay, n-hexane, n-butanol ranging from 1.56 - 800 non-virucidal; even their non-cytotoxic these did not show activities. However, its chloroform showed virucidal potential.
Conclusion: results suggest that further isolation constituents may open new horizons development agents.

were positive for the hemagglutinin (HA) and neuraminidase genes of avian influenza A (H7N9) virus. Of 6 environmental samples, 5 were positive for (H7N9) virus HA genes. No (H7N9) virus HA antibodies were detected from paired serum samples from all 18 close contacts. Two virus strains were isolated: 1 from a patient specimen (A/Zhenjiang/1/2013) and 1 from a chicken cage specimen (A/environmen...

Peste des petits ruminants

Peste des petits ruminants virus causes a highly infectious disease of small ruminants that is endemic across Africa, the Middle East and large regions of Asia. The virus is considered to be a major obstacle to the development of sustainable agriculture across the developing world and has recently been targeted by the World Organisation for Animal Health (OIE) and the Food and Agriculture Organ...

Molecular Evolution of Peste des Petits Ruminants Virus

Despite safe and efficacious vaccines against peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV), this virus has emerged as the cause of a highly contagious disease with serious economic consequences for small ruminant agriculture across Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. We used complete and partial genome sequences of all 4 lineages of the virus to investigate evolutionary and epidemiologic dynamics of ...

Asian Lineage of Peste des Petits Ruminants Virus, Africa

Interest in peste des petits ruminants virus (PPRV) has been stimulated by recent changes in its host and geographic distribution. For this study, biological specimens were collected from camels, sheep, and goats clinically suspected of having PPRV infection in Sudan during 2000-2009 and from sheep soon after the first reported outbreaks in Morocco in 2008. Reverse transcription PCR analysis co...
